At the age of thirteen, Eric Henderson became one of only three people to have been trained privately by the legnedary Andres Segovia. As immersed as he was in his classical sutdies during the two years he studied with Segovia in Madrid, he was after all, still a teenager he would sometimes switch from practicing Bach to learning songs by Jeff Beck or Jimi Hendrix. His personal style became a combination of European-based traditional and the naturalness of his southern California. His debut CD Faces combines the influences of Bacb, Beck, and Hendrix with his love of flamenco guitar.
