This film is about the languor and relationship problems amongst the youth in 1990's Japan. Minoru works in a small company. His girlfriend, Kyoko, is unemployed but has big dreams. Their relationship seems stable on the outside, but Minoru is hesitant about the idea of marriage. In the meantime, Minoru becomes involved with Yumi, the sister of one of Minoru's comicbook writers. For a while, he maintains a relationship with both, but later finds out that Yumi has also been maintaing a dual relationship with one of Minoru's co-workers. In the meantime, Kyoko announces her intentions to fly away to Brazil, and Minoru is left wondering which relationship is really important for him.
